Ukraine says Hungary has no reason to object to EU accession talks
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba said Monday that Hungary has no reason to object to the EU opening accession negotiations with Kiev because his country complies with the requirements set by Brussels.
Kuleba, present today at the meeting of foreign ministers of the European Union (EU) in Brussels, underlined that the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyj, has already signed three of the four laws that the European Commission has imposed on Kiev. approved before next March to start negotiations.
They are those of the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, that of the National Anti-Corruption Office and that of respect for minority languages in the Ukrainian education system.
European leaders will meet on Thursday and Friday at a summit in Brussels, where one of the points on the table will be the opening of negotiations with Ukraine, Moldova and Bosnia, even if the Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, has already announced his refusal of a matter that requires unanimity.
